What are airdrops and how do they work?

Airdrops are a method of distributing tokens to users. They are commonly used to generate buzz around a project, reward users for certain behaviours and or create a community. They are popular with projects big and small, but US regulatory authorities are concerned they circumvent tax laws. Projects live or die on their ability to attract users.

Is airdrop secure?

For data security, AirDrop uses TLS encryption over the peer-to-peer network, so your data is secure as well as private. It also creates a firewall between devices, so no one can access your phone or computer over the connection. Which devices work with AirDrop? AirDrop can work with iPhones, iPod touch, iPads, and Macs.

What are exclusive airdrops?

Exclusive airdrops are for specific users who have shown loyalty to a company or project. These may include users who originally contributed to a company in its startup phase — Kickstarter projects, for example — or users with a long-time history with a company. Often used to reward early adopters.

What is a Token airdrop?

Token airdrop: A crypto platform, such as a decentralized exchange (DEX), decides to create a native token. To reward its current user base, the project sends half of the total token supply to users’ wallets based on the volume each user has traded on the platform.
